GRAND COLLAPSE
Frantic, full on hardcore from Cardiff Wales. Fast, heavy, technically impressive and delivered live with a passionate sense of urgency. Their debut album “Far From The Callous Crowd” knocked the socks off anyone who heard it and brought the band to the forefront of the scene. Their new album “Along The Dew” (out now on TNSrecords) is even more impressive! More chaotic and aggressive than the first, (in their opinion), and dealing with subjects such as the DSEI arms fair, the UK border agency, and a fictional story about a fallen huntsman being eaten by woodland creatures. This album has quickly become a lot of peoples favourite release of the year. This lot are stupidly good. First time in Ipswich. Don’t miss them!
You can stream “Along The Dew” here and watch some live footage here.
Spoilers
Spoilers return to Ipswich with their unique brand of fast melodic pop punk. Think early 90s UK Punk in the vein of Leatherface or Snuff, with a touch of hardcore reminiscent of 7 Seconds thrown in for good measure. Catchy as fuck and sing along-able to, but still totally quick enough to run around in circles. This lot have been busy recently. Last year touring with aforementioned Snuff and american Fat Wreck band Bad Cop Bad Cop, and just have just finished a tour with Medictation. Well chuffed to have them back in Ipswich, this time making their first visit to The Smokehouse.
You can stream their album Stay Afloat here and watch the video to the song of the same name here.
