This is the first Freakverbration gig since October last year, it's another Indie Tracks warm up gig with Chorusgirl and Model Village playing at this years Indie Tracks with local support from Radio Orwell, but this time it's at the new venue The Smokehouse in Ipswich.

Dig beneath the surface of the perfect pop songs and you’ll find heavy lyrics about saying goodbye, giving up, grief, alienation and loneliness. With their debut album on Fortuna Pop!, Chorusgirl breathed new life into guitar pop, reinvigorating the genre with fresh hooks and sharp-edged songs full of heartache, anger and grit."
Model Village are a self-reliant, squad-based, sophistipop outfit. By setting downbeat, discontented and disheartened lyrics to almost incongruously upbeat, jangly guitar riffs and tight, driving unfussy rhythms they present to you smart commuter pop gems with just that bit more grit and potency than their contemporaries can offer. Though they are desperately trying to rip off Steely Dan, Jim O’Rourke and Red House Painters, reviewers insist that they sit somewhere in the niche between Camera Obscura, St Etienne and The Promise Ring, wherever that may be.

Ipswich indie five-piece fronted by James Severy and featuring members of Broken Shapes and (((Oh Dear. The band have got Airplays in the U.S and a airplay on huw stephen's subline show and they are currently recording their debut album coming later in the year..
