Firebrat play their debut gig at The Smokehouse Thursday 9th December!

Firebrat are shoegaze-psychedelic rock three piece formed of Zia (lead singer and bassist), Josh (drums and keys) and Marwan (guitar).

The band formed in lockdown 2020 after Zia and Josh became friends through the New Gen project at South Street Studios. “We did a few bits here and there writing together through zoom etc.”

Zia and Marwan had been friends for years and “after the lockdown lifted early 2021 we all pretty much collided. Everything timed perfectly and we came together as Firebrat. The name Firebrat has been in the pot for years and it felt right to use now.”

“A Firebrat of course is an earwig and although they don’t actually climb in your ears like we’re all told the imagery of our music getting stuck in your ears like an earwig is powerful.

We are planning to grow together as a band and we spend the majority of our time around each other writing and having fun. How music should be.”
