Brighten The Corners Presents alt-psych band Moreish Idols on Saturday 4th November at The Smokehouse.
Support comes from Norwich grunge-folk trio Takeda and Colchester indie rock band Gasoline Green playing as a duo.
Like a restless racehorse ready to break loose, the latest and second EP from London’s Moreish Idols harnesses both the power and the energy to explode.
Signed by the needs-no-introduction producer Dan Carey and his Speedy Wunderground label, ‘Lock Eyes and Collide’ is a restless post-punk offering that teeters between shoegaze, punk, and art-rock. The five-piece gives us four songs that play like a game of darts.
The EP’s most significant and potent moments sit within the album’s bookends, starting with the opener, ‘Nocturnal Creatures’, which neatly represents the best version of the band. Bouncing between the bright and fresh chorus, with guitar-strumming and verses that bounce and play, the track is creative and pulls you into its strong songwriting web.
