Free live music events course in Ipswich for young people aged 16-25 wanting to learn more about behind the scenes at events.

Tune Up

Want to learn about the behind the scenes of putting on gigs and festivals?

Tune Up is a live music events course for 16-25 year olds teaching skills and knowledge in production, programming, marketing and event management. 

What is involved?

With industry professionals offering their expertise and experience in different sectors, you will learn new skills in order to gain the experience and confidence to volunteer and look for employment opportunities within the industry.

Why get involved?

Have an interest in live music but not sure how to do it as a career? Tune Up aims to demystify the live music industry by offering training, expertise and hands on experience at live gigs and festivals in Ipswich. We invite industry professionals in a range of skills to share their real life experience and any tips and advice.

Plus you get to meet new people, make friends and have fun!

Previous Projects

So far the Tune Up project has presented Fraulein at St Stephen’s Church, Caswell at The Baths, and run the Cornhill stage at Brighten The Corners Festival 2023.

How to get involved

No experience is needed to join Tune Up, just an interest in live music and/or events, whether you’re an aspiring sound engineer, content maker, or want to run a festival one day! We have received funding from Youth Music to run Tune Up courses over the next two years. The next course starts Thursday 25th April 2024 and will run up to Brighten The Corners Festival Friday 14th & Saturday 15th June, where the participants will be involved in running the Cornhill stage!
